Since their inception, Bearhawk Aircraft has empowered pilots to build rugged and versatile aircraft, and beginning in 2025, they have taken a significant leap forward in kit aircraft electrical systems. Partnering with Hardwire Electronics, Bearhawk has integrated the PDM28 into their aircraft builds. This solid-state Power Distribution Module, paired with dual Blink Marine CAN-bus Keypads, provides pilots with sophisticated control over crucial systems like lights, pumps, and avionics. This collaboration delivers a streamlined, reliable, and feature-rich electrical architecture, setting a new standard for safety and innovation in the kit aircraft industry.

At the core of this evolution is the Hardwire Electronics PDM28, a device that replaces traditional fuses and relays with a more robust and intelligent solution. This integration offers pilots enhanced control and protection of their aircraft's electrical system. The intuitive interface, comprised of two Blink Marine CAN-bus Keypads, allows for seamless management of various aircraft functions, from basic lighting to critical avionics.

The adoption of the PDM28 was a deliberate choice to align with Bearhawk's commitment to quality and performance, presenting several key advantages for their aircraft builders and pilots:

COMPREHENSIVE ELECTRICAL

SYSTEM PROTECTION

The PDM28 provides robust protection against overcurrents and faults for the entire electrical system. In the event of a tripped output, the system can automatically retry the output, ensuring that intermittent faults do not unnecessarily disable critical components.

SIMPLIFIED IMPLEMENTATION OF ADVANCED FEATURES

The programmability of the PDM28 makes it straightforward to configure advanced functionalities. For instance, setting up features like flashing landing lights, which previously required complex wiring and additional components, can now be implemented with ease through software configuration.

ENHANCED REDUNDANCY

FOR CRITICAL SYSTEMS

Safety is paramount in aviation. The electrical system architecture, designed with the PDM28, incorporates redundancy for safety-critical systems. This ensures that essential functions remain operational, providing pilots with greater peace of mind.
