Internal pull-up for input
Is it possible to introduce internal pull-up (software selection to turn on and off) for input since some of the output from ECU is open drain configuration. This will make wiring much more simpler.

All of the PDMs have internal resistors so that you can use ground or 12V switching. There will be no issue interfacing with an ECU
