inductive load diode
This would be for my starter solenoid trigger wire. Is it needed? This is a starter on a Cummins 6BT diesel. I assume I would wire the diode to allow flow from the trigger wire to the battery cable post on the PDM, correct? Say the solenoid draws 25 amps. Is that ok on one circuit since it's momentary? What size diode?

Any help here? The solenoid doesn't draw 25 amps so we're good there.
Any comments on the diode?
